The Algerian Ministry of Health announced, Tuesday, June 16, the detection of the first case of Kawasaki in the country. It is a new disease linked to COVID-19 which affects young children and infants with a high proportion (intriguing fact awaiting confirmation) among children of African origin, as reported by Science and Life. According to the head of the pediatric service of the CHU of the city of Batna, the first child with this disease in Algeria, is 3 years old. None of his parents and relatives are infected with COVID-19.

Kawasaki disease has appeared in Algeria. A case was detected in Batna on Tuesday June 16. The concerned is a 3-year-old child from Aïn Touta, in the same province. It was the head of the pediatrics department of the Batna University Hospital, namely Djamila Brahmi, who announced this discovery to the channel Ennahar TV.
