Curfew extension and other restrictions for 2 more weeks

The government has decided to extend the national curfew and other restrictions announced on 13 January for another two weeks from Tuesday 16 February at 21:00, a statement said.

These measures are, as a reminder:

– A curfew established throughout the national territory from 21:00 to 06:00 in the morning, except in exceptional circumstances …

– The closure of restaurants, cafés, shops and supermarkets every day at 8pm.

– The prohibition of parties and gatherings.

All other restrictions previously enacted remain in force.

This decision, says the government press release, comes on the basis of the recommendations of the Scientific and Technical Commission on the need to maintain the measures necessary to combat Covid-19, particularly after the appearance of new variants of the virus in neighbouring countries. It is also part of ongoing efforts to counter the spread of the epidemic and limit its negative repercussions.
