Wilaya of Algiers: Prohibition of motor traffic and extension of exceptional authorisations

The services of the wilaya of Algiers decided Thursday to ban completely the circulation of cars and motorcycles, including outside the hours of partial confinement with maintenance of the validity of exceptional traffic permits issued by the administrative districts of the workplace during the two days of Eid El-Fitr.

“With regard to additional measures to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic, namely the application of partial confinement at home from 1 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following day during the two (02) days of Eid El-Fitr, the Wali of Algiers shall inform all public and private organizations, and holders of exceptional traffic permits during the confinement, that these permits remain valid and in force the two (02) days of Eid Al-Fitr,” said the services of the wilaya of Algiers in a statement published on their Facebook page.

Involvement of mosques in the distribution of masks

The Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Youcef Belmehdi on Thursday affirmed the involvement of mosques in the initiative to distribute masks to citizens from the first day of Eid El Fitr, calling for a commitment to social distancing measures and the replacement of visits to relatives during Aid by communication through new technologies.
