July 02, 2020: Because of COVID-19, Postponement of the referendum on the modification of the constitution in Algeria
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Algerian presidency has decided to postpone all political agendas, according to a statement from the independent national electoral authority, including the pre-legislative and local elections.
The Independent National Election Authority in Algeria announced today, Thursday, that the referendum to amend the country’s constitution is no longer a priority at this stage, explaining that there is no longer any need for technical mobilization of local branches of the Independent National Election Authority in Algeria.
